 E-Filing: Filing Requirements


Welcome to the Department of Taxation's E-Filing site!

Aloha! The Department of Taxation and eHawaii.gov have partnered to offer on-line filing and payment of tax returns. This web site offers the following transactions:

  • Resident Individual Income Tax Return (Form N-13) - Short Form for Tax Year 2007.
  • Tax payments for forms being electronically filed or bill payments for Delinquent Net Income (Form N-126E), General Excise/Use, Transient Accommodations, Rental Motor Vehicle And Tour Vehicle Surcharge, and Employer's Withholding Taxes (Form VP-1E)
  • Periodic Return Filings for General Excise/Use (Form G-45), Transient Accommodations (Form TA-1), and Employer's Withholding Taxes (Form HW-14)
  • Annual Return Filings for General Excise/Use (Form G-49) and Transient Accommodations Taxes (Form TA-2)
  • Net Income Tax Estimated Tax Vouchers for Individuals (Form N-1) and Corporations (Form N-3)
  • Application for Tax Clearance (Form A-6)
  • Requests for Extension of Time to File Net Income Tax Returns for Individuals (Form N-101A), Corporations (Form N-301) and Partnerships, Trusts, or REMICs (Form N-100)
  • Requests for Extension of Time to File the Annual Return and Reconciliation For General Excise/Use Taxes. (Form G-39)
  • Statement By Qualified High Technology Business (Form N-317)
  • Declaration of Estimated Income Tax for Corporations and S Corporations (Form N-3)
  • Declaration of Estimated Tax for Individuals (Form N-1)
  • Net Income Tax Payment (Form N-126E)
  • General Excise/ Use, Rental Vehicle Surcharge, Transient Accommodations or Withholding Tax Payment (Form VP-1E)

If you would like to file your Individual Resident Income Tax Return (Form N-11) or Individual Income Tax Return for Nonresidents and Part-Year Residents (Form N-15) electronically, please visit our JELF (Joint Electronic Filing) for more information on Hawaii's participation in the IRS Federal/State Electronic Filing Program.

  • If you file your tax return on-line and make your payment via electronic check, the administrative costs are waived.
  • If you file your tax return on-line and choose to pay using a Credit Card, the administrative cost of 2.25% will be added to your transaction total.

No payments are processed until you authorize the payment.

         free web-based e-mail account. (e.g., hotmail.com, email.com, yahoo.com, etc.)

3. Social Security Number (SSN) or Federal Employer's Identification Number (FEIN).

4. U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank account.

5. Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0.
    a. A free copy of the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded from Adobe's web site at
        http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
